​I've worked with nonprofit leaders and community organizations long enough to see that most problems aren't solved by piling on more tools, more strategy, or more hustle.

They're solved through clarity. Through reflection. Through getting aligned with what actually matters.

When leaders get space to pause and really look at who they are, what they care about, and what they're trying to build, something shifts. Decisions get steadier. Culture becomes deliberate instead of accidental. Systems start reflecting purpose instead of just reacting to pressure.

A path shaped by Community & Practice

My work centers on leadership development, organizational renewal, change management, and governance. I am most at home in the spaces where reflection meets action, and where leaders are willing to pause, reassess, and move forward with greater clarity.

​

​I am continually drawn to how change flows within us as individuals and across our collective ecosystems. That flow shapes how we build and rebuild, focus and refocus, and ultimately renew. My coaching and consulting are strengths-focused and grounded in a generative inquiry approach cultivated through years of relationship-centered practice. I hold firmly to the belief that clients are experts in their own lived experience and inherently equipped to be changemakers.

For many years, I have worked as a capacity builder, designing and launching cohort-based programs that provide leadership development and peer learning for executive directors and board members of small, community-based nonprofits with budgets under $250,000. I have also led diverse training and technical assistance initiatives for government, civil society, and clinical professionals across the United States and globally, supporting changemakers within their fields of practice.

 

As Einstein once noted, no problem can be solved from the same consciousness that created it. Begin Within exists to support nonprofit leaders in cultivating values-aligned organizational cultures where people at all levels can thrive.

Sawida's extensive knowledge, hands-on support, and genuine encouragement helped us navigate these complex situations.
